On September 15, 2004, an abandoned lot turned community park in West Philadelphia grew roots with the creation of Holding Grandmother’s Quilt by local artist Don Gensler. The mural symbolizes intergenerational learning and also recognizes Miss Jones – a well-known member of the community for over 35 years.
